Jami Denise
Jami always had a strong desire to write, and from a very young age books became her escape. She loves the freedom to express herself through her stories and share them with others. She was inspired by authors such as Judy Blume, S.E. Hinton, Lois Duncan and Paula Danziger. She quickly moved along to steal her mother's books and found a love for romance and the Classics. Most of her stories stayed in her head, until she was in middle school and she started writing in journals. Mostly, she wrote poetry, but soon her creativity demanded more attention, and she began developing short stories as well.
Those notebooks remained hidden away, along with the numerous ones she'd scribbled in here and there over the years, until a friend encouraged her to write again about five years ago. She has never been more grateful for the push. Her books are always on the spicy side, wih a little bit of sweet to make you swoon. Her feisty kittens always give the bad boys a run for their money. She likes taking risks, pushing her characters into directions that challenge the reader and bring them out of their element. The unexpected is usually what you'll find with her writing. Life isn't always pretty, and she likes to layer her words with true grit. She is also a self confessed sexy cat lady, and her writing partners include a gaggle of rescued alley cats, and her big black dog. She loves black and white movies, old cars, collecting old pink junk, James Dean, and all things Alabama. She's never without a tube of birthday cake lip balm, she never drinks Pepsi,and she MIGHT have an obsession with Star Wars. When she doesn't have her nose in a book, or fingers on a keyboard, she spends her time at the beach, hanging out with her family and friends, and waiting for the next felon to come sweep her off her feet. Jami lives in Southern California. |
